Democratic New Mexico State Auditor Tim Keller has declared victory in a race to grow to be Albuquerque’s subsequent mayor.

Keller thanked supporters on Tuesday for a “clear mandate” to push his liberal agenda to deal with the town’s rising crime charges and struggling financial system. Keller says he was glad to symbolize “all of Albuquerque” as the town’s subsequent mayor.

Early returns present Keller main Republican Albuquerque Metropolis Council Dan Lewis with sixty two % of the vote in comparison with 38 %.

The returns are based mostly on early voting and 30 voting facilities out of fifty three.

Lewis conceded the race shortly after eight p.m.

Keller was vying to return the town to Democratic management after eight years underneath Republican Mayor Richard Berry.
