Rockford man charged with robbing dollar store Sunday night

Rockford Police say they’ve made an arrest in reference to a theft to a greenback retailer over the weekend. 

Hector Correa-Rios, 39, of Rockford, has been charged with aggravated theft. 

Police say officers have been referred to as to Greenback Common within the 1400 block of Kishwaukee Road round eight:30 p.m. Sunday on a report of a theft incident. 

As soon as on the scene police discovered that a suspect got here into the shop, walked as much as an worker, implied he was carrying a weapon after which demanded the worker open the money register. 

As soon as the money register was open, police say the suspect grabbed some money after which ran away from the shop.

No weapon was ever seen and nobody was injured through the incident. 

Correa-Rios was arrested Tuesday in reference to this investigation. He’s now being held within the Winnebago County Jail on $250,000 bond. 

Detectives at the moment are investigating to see if Correa-Rios is answerable for different comparable robberies which have occurred on the similar retailer lately.
